Thanks to everyone who came on the first Wind Walk!

On 27 September 2008, we held the first Wellington Wind Walk, a community walk from the Brooklyn Community Centre to the Brooklyn Wind Turbine and back again.

Yes, it was windy, but everyone looked to be having a great time. There were windmills, kites, streamers, bubble wands and musical wind instruments. Thanks once again to our sponsors, the Brooklyn fire brigade, and everyone who helped to make the Wind Walk a great morning out.

Watch the video clip here. And there are photos here.

Wind Walk T-shirts

You can still order Wind Walk T-Shirts. They cost just $30 for adult sizes and $20 for children. Click on the image above to see available colour options.

Why did we do this?

Brooklyn Early Childhood Centre (BECC) needs to raise $100,000 so that we can bring our facilities up to new Ministry of Education licensing standards. Find out more about BECC.

Next year’s Wind Walk will be even better. See you then!

If you can’t wait till then, Khandallah School are hosting the Kaukau Challenge up Mt Kaukau on 4 November. You can find out more on their website.
